Plant Polyphenols - Eat Plants! (sync)

The Take home point is in the last paragraph - there is a new dietary recommendation for daily intake of the type of polyphenols found in tea, berries and pomegranate:

Flavanols: Catechin, Epicatechin, Gallocatechin, EGCG, Proanthocyanidins; 400/600 mg per day intake of this type of flavonoid is the new dietary recommendation by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (Crowe-White, et al, 2022).
-
Green or black tea leaves, Yerba Mate, pomegranate peel or leaves, sumac powder, goji and other berries, quince and persimmon fruit & leaves are sources of flavanols.
-
3 cups of green tea provide about 200 mg EGCG. Red wine & eat grape seeds too!
-
Dark chocolate, flaxseeds.
